Scaly CD Door

All > Home > Decorating > Scaly CD Door by denhaz
This is a spare time project that can be achived slowly over time or faster depending how light fingered you are and your definition of "Take one".

Over time spare CD's, from magazines I'm never going to read again and games that are never going to be played or sold due to lazyness, have been piling up in my room. I realised after a while that there is a limit to the amount of CD coasters you can own and planned to throw them away, until I realised this was a complete waste.

Using double sided sticky pads a row of CD's was stuck to the door, each one overlapping the last and working from bottom to top to give a scaly effect. This was slowly added to as time progessed and CD's were collected.

On top of my random useless CD collection as many free AOL trials have been "actively aquired" as possible without raising too much suspision from shop workers and now my scaly CD door has finally taken form.

I love how the colors show up when the CDs are arranged like that.

Yea, caused by the flash. Will be trying to rig up a load of random flashing ultra bright LED's to see how that looks.

This is surprisingly nice for such a simple idea. Good work!
