Edit 3/20/08: This creation is now for sale on my new Etsy shop: http://Mellonea.Etsy.com.

I created this from old t-shirts, Cut and sewed into panels that would make a skirt! I sewed them onto a white jersey skirt I already had, that had a stain on it, so sizing wasn't an issue, thankfully, the skirt base already fit me. This is the second article of clothing I've ever used a sewing machine to make, and beings that I used no pattern, it took a lot of mock-ups and eyeballing, and "Just trying it" to get it right. I estimate it took me around 11 hours to make. If I did it again, I think I could do it in more like 5, since I'd know what I was doing. Sorta.

The original mockup, using a photo of the actual intended t-shirts involved, and some crappy photoshopping.
The back of the skirt, laid out.
Laborious heart cutting outting.
Before affixing hearts.
Hearts affixed with Liquid Stitch fabric glue.
I had to sew a panel taken from the sleeve of this shirt into the neck hole, since the shirt was not tall enough to go around without using the neck hole portion. I loved this shirt, my 1982 Worlds fair shirt, but It was a bit small for me about the shoulders, so I stopped wearing it. Now I trust I'll wear it more often!
Made a slit in the purple, since it was dang hard to walk in.

Thanks for looking! ^_^ There's more yammering about it on my blog: http://guildmistress.wordpress.com/2008/03/17/rainbow-reconstructed-t-shirt-skirt-actually-really-completed/
