Boat Picture Above My Couch

All > "Art" > Boat Picture Above My Couch by tsmaster
Taking inspiration from a popular domestic television show, I wanted to have a picture of a boat over my couch. In fact, I wanted to have the same picture, to some degree.

I found an episode of the show where the picture was shown straight on (to keep me from having to correct for perspective), screen captured a promising frame, cleaned it up in Photoshop a little, then sent it through Rasterbator (not my choice of name, sorry), which converts JPEG images to large-scale PDF files, suitable for sending to your printer. Rasterbator is capable of much larger projects like this, and probably wasn't necessary for the boat. In my research, I tried to get the picture sized to the couch to match what I saw on TV, but I'm not sure how well I achieved that goal.

I didn't get this at first, but then I watched an episode today, and that very painting was thrown into their fireplace, and I was like "Hey! That's it!"
The mystery remains!

Yes, indeed. A friend reminded me that on the show, there's a closet full of those paintings, so when one gets destroyed they just pull a new one out and replace it.

If you remember an episode where they're chanting "you don't make friends with salad", that's the one that I grabbed the image from.
